In my work “it was a difficult landing “I try to capture the point of view of our soldiers as they landed at Gallipoli.
They would have been confronted by hills and ravines and enemy fire, but they had jobs to do amongst the confusion and fear.
The painting is dreamlike in quality, dominated by ochre colour and touches of red and a muddy sky.
